I cropped out the useless commentary
I cropped out the useless commentary
That’s a shame =/ I don’t really see many mtx beyond the season pass and some “DLCs” (read: a couple cars and track bits), which doesn’t feel too egregious. But I could be missing aspects of it that suck more.
At least the actual racing is fun.
I have no clue what that’s supposed to mean
Fr one of the reasons I can’t get into anime very much is because of how abstract and inhuman most characters look and behave. I know there are cultural and historical reasons for the style and tropes, but it makes everything completely unrelatable to me.
So I’ll forever be one of those guys who’s like “Cowboy Bebop is great but that’s as far as I go”
Where King Gizzard?
We call em “suicide cords” in the electrical business
Dune
Dune Messiah
Children of Dune
God Emperor of Dune
Anything beyond that is extremely optional
I know right? I moved away from home 20 years ago and it still nailed it.
Linguistics is so cool
Oh my god, it’s the six-fingered man! Someone get Inigo Montoya into low Earth orbit right now!
Honestly, it’s a Western media thing. Pretty much the only mythology most of us English speakers are taught is Greco-Roman. In past decades, efforts to branch out were often shallow. Things are getting better, there’s more stuff coming out drawing from indigenous or African or South Asian mythology or whatever. But it’s taken some time.
Video games have been mostly made by white dudes, after all. They’re exposed to white dude stuff.
Omg what is up with the chairdogs
Definitely picking this up, I’m curious what he cooked up. I’m a fan of simple-but-deep strategy games and Vonnegut both, I’ll report back after a few games probably this evening.
Just about every hobby is some kind of money sink. One reason I stopped playing 40k was because of my distaste for how GW insists on only using their materials and how blatantly they just drill people’s wallets.
But that’s not the whole wargaming community! That’s not even the whole 40k community. There’s OnePageRules, for instance, which is a totally free and really good model-agnostic Warhammer ruleset. There are other games like Battletech that are much more accepting of kit-bashes and creative modeling. Lots of historical wargames are very open about that too (as long as you keep it accurate).
And, of course, investing a couple hundred in a decent UV printer both a) provides a whole new way to hobby and b) saves a SHITLOAD long-term.
I started with DnD miniatures when I was quitting drinking. That’s pretty affordable and risk-free for starting out, and a lot of the models out there for like $5 apiece are really decent these days. A basic paint set and some dollar store brushes and you’re good to go.
I’m very passionate about DIY hobbying ;)
The difference is, they choose the balaclava.
So, not the kind that the delivery driver I used to work with had. Gotcha.
I started Warhammer at age 30. Now I’m approaching 40 and looking at guns.
I think that’s what people mean when they say that. Nobody asked for another sequel to whatever, we want new and interesting stories.
It seems like the OP in the screenshot is sort of strawmanning?
Trig isn’t that bad? It’s just about relationships between angles and triangles/circles. If you learn SOH CAH TOA and what the inverses are/mean you’ve pretty much got it.
They could at least set up a kid corral somewhere, let the little shots wear themselves out.
You mean Trigun? Ofc
And GitS and Eva and the other “classics”
