I’m not even defending the Taliban. But these orgs are ruining stuff at home, I’m sure they’d love to make us worry about the evil over there and not here.

For decades I’ve had friends tell me to eat meat to gain muscle. Not surprisingly this study didn’t change their attitude, fuck they just wanted to consume dead animals.

We aren’t listening to material power, we have ideals about democracy and fairness, and we value discussion and conflict. Honestly I think that all of those are good and admirable things. I wouldn’t want to be friends with someone who didn’t genuinely want those.

I should point out that the closer you get to someone, the more you’re gonna argue with them. It’s just the rule of being social in the world. I go to work and my boss gets 1% of my personality. With people I love, I do occasionally call them out on shit because I want them to grow, and I expect the same from them.

As you do, eat alone and don’t socialise with workmates. I try to read actual books or podcast on my free time to give my eyes a break.
