There’s a running joke that Belize and El Salvador are Guatemala’s 23rd and 24th departments. Honduras would just be an added bonus for the nationalists.

You all think the next front will be in East Asia or even Southeast Asia, but just you wait. It will be in Central America when Guatemala finally takes Belize and El Salvador for ourselves, turning the wheels to bring back the Federal Republic of Central America.
Damn. The Jets have always been kind of shit but the Giants too?
I miss the good old days when men would name their sons “Gaylord”
Any upstate New York comrades: are people still going nuts over the Buffalo Bills? I remember everyone going crazy over them. Even local stores outside of Buffalo would have bills-themed merchandise on big game days
The West more or less is America with how willingly they let American culture take over theirs
Daily Kos is such an obnoxious liberal cesspool. I remember them being annoying anti-Bernie.
Lol first the military secrets leaked to impress a tinder match and now this to impress internet friends.
To people completely unfamiliar it can seem that way from media framing. You know nothing about the Middle East, let alone your own politics, and then there’s this big debate about two sides with one you know more about because because the media you’re exposed to pushes them more.
More like the Wilsonian Dems from the 1910’s. They’re more or less the reason the US foreign policy is what it is today.
It seems to be black libs on social media. The sort of phenomenon that definitely happens but is being talked about as if it’s a huge number. The average black woman in America probably felt upset by the results and then continued on.
You can check your dms? I don’t think I’ve ever checked mine.
I actually had no idea who she was until this last week and I joined only two months after she did.
It’s incredible they even lasted this long. It’s too bad they aren’t located somewhere more favorable for them in the same way North Korea is.
I’m at a point where I’ve mostly accepted that the Cuban revolution might end in this century. Too many natural disasters, crippling sanctions, and weakening infrastructure isn’t making it any easier. I really hope I’m wrong.
It definitely isn’t looking good for Latin America. Petro in Colombia is going have a hard time, as is Honduras, Nicaragua, and Brazil. Mexico too.
Edit: I also worry about my country because if he goes after El Salvador, Guatemala is going to feel the spill-over effects with anti-migrant sentiment getting even worse.
Oh, God. Latin America, and especially Cuba, are going to suffer.
The fates of third-parties were sealed in 2004. They did better in raw numbers and percentage of votes in this election than they did in that one. Anyone expecting them to seriously reshape the political landscape was dreaming too hard. Both parties are as strong as ever and the political landscape won’t be changing within any of our lifetimes.
That doesn’t mean I think third-parties won’t occasionally have strong runs. They did consistently worse during the Great Depression and then George Wallace came with an unusually strong run for a third-party candidate. Despite that, people still largely voted for the Dems or Repubs.
One of the worst side-effects of being more involved in online Anglo leftist circles is learning about Destiny and Lonerbox.
