Update: the city of Plantation has just added an event!
Project: City of Plantation note: only covers Plantation Preserve Linear Trail and Golf Course special event: September 9, 9am ~ 11am
Again, note that the project covers the whole month, even though the special event is on a particular day.

Oh, you might already know this but I just wanted to mention that there’s City Nature Challenge in May, which is also a BioBlitz run in a bunch of different places (similar to the Parks for Pollinators event in that regard).
Yeah, there’s a variety of BioBlitz events; this one just happens to be one of the bigger sets of events.
And thanks for the extra info!
I clicked on it expecting just a simple “they’re genetic clones and they’re susceptible this same disease”, but this is quite a bit more depth about things. Thanks for sharing!
Big News: Little Newts
oh yeah i forgot about the Metal Slug games! haven’t played them yet though.
makes eggs, throws eggs
Ooh, it’s the entire Island of Dr. Brain soundtrack! Though I think I played this with PC Speaker audio as a kid lol.
Sidenote: I love how the visual presentation uses the in-game dialog box style.
oh snap, this is actually legit good
Yeah, it’s a game where you basically lead a spaceship through a succession of planets while trying to outrun an advancing enemy fleet and randomized events happen to the ship and its crew along the way, including friendly, neutral, and hostile encounters.
The Mantis is one of multiple sentient alien species that can be part of your crew (and/or enemies who fight you).
I thought it was appropriate that we had a mantis next to our logo. There was also the leaf that says “go vegan” but there wasn’t much else that would be close to our theme, and besides, this spot had enough space.
Oh that’s what those are!
They tap their snout on surfaces
So they boop things like dogs do. lol
Yeah, they got organized very early and very fast.
also lol i failed herpetology by called those things “chelicera”
I don’t know, but I hang out on a Discord server of people interested in puzzles and one of the custom emojis there is the Bookworm mascot.
Finished!
I finally got a chance to look this up and this is the weirdest and most fascinating salamander face I’ve ever seen.
There’s a second, smaller Mander logo centered around 718, 897.
Since the label on our bigger logo is being…partly underrun?, I’m adding a quick label to our smaller logo.
If anyone’s around, you can come help out with the lettering. Just check the pixel art letters that are below and to the right.
