You DON’T really get different perspectives. In ANY of those platform styles.

It’s literally designed to show you whatever you engage most with, and usually that’s “things that get you angry” regardless of who you are. For my wife, it’s “here’s how my family is shitty/aita” for some of my friends it’s “here’s how I was being misgendered/deadnamed/not accepted” and for some people I know, it’s “here’s a person who is not cis/white/christian/male existing in my general area”

I guess you get the different perspectives if you know a wide variety of people who use it and don’t actually use it yourself?

My favorite thing is seeing attempted memes of “this is the future the left wants with socialism/communism/anticapitalism” and… It’s literally just a picture of regular old capitalism making sure certain people get the worst of it. Usually houseless camping hotspots, and slums that supply larger wealthier areas with their luxuries and labor.

A proper ratio of what you downloaded to what you allow others to download should be 1:1 if you’re not a dick. (1gb downloaded means you need to upload 1gb to other users for 1:1) but if you don’t seed at ALL or if you only seed bare minimum to keep downloading things, you’re called a Leech, and derogatorily. Because you didn’t seed.

Also I do intentionally leave some things a bit more vague, with ideas of what I want to do, but I’m hoping the players will start theorizing amongst themselves so I can incorporate their stuff into the game.

It gives them a nice sense of accomplishment to have “predicted” something, and I think they feel more engaged in the campaign.

Boring anecdote ahead!

I remember watching a Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) video about Capo Fero while singing some Skallagrim videos, and immediately I went “hey wait a minute that sounds familiar” and racked my brain trying to figure out who’s voice I was hearing in my head saying “capo Fero”

Of course once I realized it, I had to watch the entire movie, because one does not simply watch clips of The Princess Bride…

Anyway, that led me down a huge long road of videos all about sword fighting in movies and how realistic (or laughably unrealistic) they can be.

I was actually surprised to see halfswording in Season of the Witch when someone fights Ron perlman. That movie isn’t amazing cinema, but it’s fun and doesn’t deserve it’s 10% RT score. It should be at least 15%.

I knew of two other people on lemmy who lived in my state, and then following the tradition of so many astronauts before us, one of them left due to governmental persecution and fled to another country.

I am aware of the massive setup costs, and exactly 0 of what you said invalidates anything I said.

This is something that’s always boggles my mind as an American.

Why would any other country rely on us for military equipment instead of working on their own? Yeah it costs money to setup, but even in highschool I knew enough to know the US has, to put it lightly, done shady shit to its allies. Hell, it’s own people.

Why would anyone trust that they’ll always be an ally? Especially when Republicans are in charge and make international cooperation even more of a joke than usual.

I would absolutely be consulting a lawyer before actually putting that out, just to, at the very least, have someone who’s a little familiar with the situation beforehand. That way if I DO get arrested, I already know a lawyer who’s looked into this and already had some things ready to go.
