  • 100%! I love the differences in the tacos you get in San Antonio or Austin or Dallas and even different parts of the city and whether it comes on a plate or rolled in aluminum foil. brisket or barbacoa or suadero and the places where you would swear someone’s grandma is in the kitchen making tortillas. I can’t stand a bland crunchy taco shell, but when someone fries a corn tortilla and it wraps around the taco …that’s the best! Theres a place near me that makes the best cheese enchiladas. It’s a chicken place and I usually have to take it back because they always try to add chicken, but when they get it right it is so incredible that I could eat it everyday. Instead of a ranchero sauce or a chili con carne, they have this stewed pot of spiciness with tomatoes and onions and garlic and peppers and heroin I think. Oh, there’s another place that does something they call enchiladas monarcas that i think involves a little bit of parmesan cheese.

  • Sitting in a rocking swivel patio chair while shaving the dog and I leaned forward to get his belly. The chair started to tip. I startled and i was able to stop it from tipping over, but then it felt like my back locked up and i couldn’t move. Husband helped me into the house and i missed several days of work. I did the exact same things three years in a row. I still have the chairs. Dog died and that’s likely the only reason it stopped after 3x.

  • Two days back at work from winter break and then two snow days, so that was pretty good. Finally started working on cleaning out and repairing the house i inherited from my mom. Foundation work got done this week and we’re meeting the plumber tomorrow for a quote on replacing cast iron pipes. The cost is stressful, but it feels good to finally be getting stuff done there. I was sad thinking that my mom would be sad to see it in disrepair. My honey will be working out of town next week so I’m enjoying the weekend with him before he leaves.
