Precedent? I don’t even know why they bother when they can simply legally and openly bribe whomever wins anyway
And with this final blow… the entire government of the USA is up for sale!
PP is short for Pierre Poilievre who is the head of the Conservative Party (our version of USA’s Republicans) and likely to win the next election in 2025
The closest we get here is the NDP (New Democratic Party) who are left leaning… but they are in shambles here
I’m going to assume (against common sense, this is an honest question)…
Most recent example
Less money = less staff, less maintenance, less services => more people with no choice but to go to Emerg, hospitals that work putting out fires all the time with less staff to go by… long term, it also causes people NOT too go into health care as a profession
They are literally planning to shrink hospital capacity
well the USA was circling the drain after Trump’s first win… they are now at the toilet gargling stage
I don’t believe there is a single politician out there who mean more than 2% of what they say.
I definitely lean left in almost any category… the problem is that even if a politician or party directly promise, word for word, exactly what I want. There is zero chance they will even try to implement it when they get to power; worse, there is not even a way to keep them accountable except “not voting for them again”.
I live in Canada and I voted for Trudeau in great part for electoral reform which was directly promised and then completely 180d. Trudeau did a couple of OK things but for the most part has been mediocre (not the cause of all our problems as the opposition claims). However, I find myself now in the spot where I either vote for Trudeau again to keep on the mediocrity train, or vote for PP who stands for nothing, has accomplished nothing in over 20 years of being a public employee leech and has all but promised he will run the country off a cliff to own the libs
For me personally, it was all about balance.
15 years ago, Gmail/Inbox was a great email client, the domain was great and popular (so no need to spell it out for people) and I would “pay” by getting ads based on my emails read by a bot.
Now Gmail is a terrible email client, the best updates are ridiculous things like moving buttons around and it takes Google years to roll out. The thing loses emails, mislabels and misclassifies stuff and the rules work for a week then blow up. On top of that, google is now basically a proctologist considering how far up my ass they want to go
The balance is broken… Google now officially sucks (IMO)
Think of it this way…
You take all your money and you have a lawyer form a charity (no tax) that you control. The charity rakes in even more money and all they make (via investment) is tax free (or practically so)
Meanwhile, since you are employed by that charity, it pays for your mansions, trips, fancy foods, vacations, yachts, whatever you want… Basically it is like having a rich daddy that buys everything for you and you never have to worry about money
can we vote for imaginary politicians now?
Exactly right… what should happen is that the Satanic Church, any Islam denomination, the Spaghetti Monster, etc should all start putting up their own billboards everywhere…
While SCOTUS is compromised, there is no point in playing their game
yes
Canada here… yes wait times are a bitch
But it must be clarified this is not a result of socialized medicine… this is mostly a result of Politicians (largely Conservatives) starving the system as hard as they can just to justify Private Medicine as the only solution.
Because it’s the only path left they have to attain power. They cannot win on merit, debate, ideas, track record, etc… it’s been like that for a while but now they are getting more and more desperate
Faith is just a personal trait. I did not mean “respect” as in “revered”, I meant respected as in “not my business, not gonna judge”.
To clarify further, I believe we all have faith in something. Scientists have faith/hope/expectations without direct evidence, that science will answer all questions given time. I have faith/hopes/expectations that my sport teams will prevail one day. I don’t think there is anything wrong with having faith (as in hopes without direct evidence) about anything. The problem is when that faith becomes the driving force of your life and you want to impose it on others.
Pirating implies some knowledge and effort some people may not have or want to get into
Paid Legal services are so enshitified some people may think they are getting ripped up
Paid illegal services are often HUGE bang for buck value (no enshitification, no limits, no nonsense and often better customer service)
I respect people who have faith… but those religious idiots out there using religion as a weapon and the scum of society, and those from, the ones that think Trump is a kind of messiah, are so completely utterly brained fucked that should be legally declared incapacitated
By this logic, we would have never moved from horses… which may have actually been a good thing hehehe
I find breaking the momentum (good or bad) is the hard part.
Since last year I adopted a “work all week, play all weekend” strategy; I basically work my 8 to 4, then immediately start working around the house, in projects, in hobbies, anything. I set myself a 7 pm warning to start wrapping up so I don’t leave a mess behind, shower and chill until it’s time for bed.
On weekends it’s all fun stuff unless we need to do some special project around the house that could not be done during the week (usually some gardening stuff).
On the exercise front, I run 3 to 5 KM 3 times a week and literally play with some dumbbells also 3 times a week (usually during boring “listen only” meetings)
I have never accomplished more and felt progress than before. Now that the rhythm is going, I get restless if I can’t do stuff (say due to weather or other commitments). Just yesterday my wife told me not to do as planned because we are undergoing a heat wave and it was “horrible” outside, yet I couldn’t contain myself and decided to do what I could… I ended up completing the task of removing an old shurb we wanted to get rid of and I slept great with a sense of accomplishment and a bit of “good pain” from all the exercise

regular federal officials were up for sale way before this… the combined “corporations are people” and “money is free speech” nonsense meant anyone can openly throw money at anyone up for election and that’s A-OK because free speech
