The dprk jab was lame but I like the message overall
Because this is the most propagandized country on the planet
Will Gaza even be habitable in 50 years after a Harris presidency? She has not vaguely aligned herself with current policy, she has pledged to maintain current rates of weapons shipments and support Israel to the hilt in their genocide. Any talk of ceasefire from Biden or Harris is meaningless because 1) they redefined ceasefire in their messaging to mean a hostage exchange 2) they are actively maintaining the military capabilities of Israel and therefore materially opposing ceasefire. Biden and Harris both CHOOSE not to make a call and end this genocide. They are as complicit as Netanyahu and exactly as dangerous as Trump
Clearly systemic approaches are the appropriate response to a pandemic. But our capitalist system has utterly failed to address this problem or put forth the most basic of solutions. So we must collectively work to protect one another in spite of their actions. Nobody is immune to Covid. Even as somebody who has gotten every vaccine the moment I could, I am susceptible to an infection, just much less so than somebody without the vaccines. Even if I got lucky and it was asymptomatic for me, I can act as a vector to spread it to somebody who is more at risk or just less lucky and who has major health outcomes for it. I’d much rather stick out in a crowd for masking than be the person responsible for passing the virus
It’s not about ‘viewing the world as a threat’ or ‘living in fear’ or whatever. It’s about community protection and mitigating the fallout of the ruling class’ selfish policies. The response of any revolutionary to systemic failures which are harming us should be collective action and education, and masks are a large part of that in the current climate of an ongoing pandemic. I wouldn’t look at the fact that millions of Americans vote for dems and repubs and conclude “the people want capitalism, I may as well give up on socialism.” Same principle should apply here
I mask every day; I will stop masking and taking precautions the moment the pandemic is over. I will not risk disability or death for myself or anybody in my life for the acceptance of those who deny science or for the mild convenience of not putting on a mask
If you see taking basic precautions towards preventing an infectious disease as a ‘style choice’ then I suppose you can’t expect much patience and decorum from people who are especially at risk of its worst effects
Random applications that use the play integrity API won’t work on any third party OSes or ROMs. For example I tried to install some Intuit app on my GOS Pixel a while back (credit karma I think?) and it didn’t work at all
Yes sanction yourself that’ll help you become the imperial hegemon again lmao
Mostly LibreWolf, but I’ve been enjoying Zen Browser recently. It’s based on Firefox but with lots of cool extra functionality baked in. It is still in alpha though and I’ve experienced some bugs, including it crashing my whole system a couple of times, but it’s very promising
Recently, uBlue. It’s more a family of fedora atomic images but it has taken the pain out of immutability for me. I was using Fedora silver blue and later Sericea a while back, but installing codecs from RPMfusion on it never worked properly and my hw acceleration was always broken. I was on NixOS for a while but had sporadic problems that come with NixOS not using an FHS structure. But uBlue just works. Hardware acceleration works out of the box, and I can easily create custom images with BlueBuild. It’s a very nice ecosystem to create a stable, secure, complete base system. And I run nix on top of it for user packages and home-manager to get all the benefits of both worlds
Check out Wayblue, they make some custom universal blue images based off fedora silverblue which includes a hyprland image. I’m running a modified way blue image myself these days and loving it. Technically it’s a secureblue image based on a way blue image but yeah same difference
Was using NixOS but just could not deal with lack of FHS compatibility. Even the workarounds like nix-ld and nix-alien didn’t help with some key scripts I needed to run for secure network verification stuff. So I just migrated to this plus nix/home-manager for my application management
If it’s something that will be mostly interacted with over CLI then kebab case. If GUI then spaces
There is no set of standard grammatical rules for any language. There are current standards for existing dialects, and they change all the time. The strict and steadfast rules of a Londoner’s English are different from those of a Bostonian’s English or Californian’s English. And go back fifty years and those rules in all of those places were different still. Your prescriptivist nonsense is not based on material reality, and you are using it to justify nothing short of your racist prejudices
There is a fully Rust based Unix-like OS out there, it’s called Redox and it’s very cool
Funny that the country calling those liberated nations ‘captive’ is literally dotted with oppressed nations it continues to wage existential war against in an attempt to fully subvert their sovereignty
Have you tried yabai or amethyst? Both really solid macOS tilers
His daughter had something to do with the coma? I thought that was just abt his benzo habit
Extremely dependent on a number of factors, mostly hardware and configuration. I had a Thinkpad T480 and on a stock fedora install it definitely died faster than W10, but after setting up TLP and Powertop I squeezed ~2 more hours of use out of it than Windows could manage. Ditto for my framework 13, I get all day battery life on NixOS but when I’ve tested windows on it I lose a few hours immediately
There is a Unity variant that’s still maintained
