“Primaries” where they strongly discouraged anyone from running if they wanted a future in the democrat party. A primary against someone with brain worms who’s not so secretly a trumper is not a real primary.

This point needs to be driven home over and over and over again. The democrats haven’t held a real primary where the DNC operatives weren’t interfering since 2008! which coincided with the election in a landslide of Obama after he won an extremely competitive primary.

Democrats learned the wrong lesson from that election, they thought it was identity politics that won the landslide. No idiots, it was democracy itself. Of course being the first black man to be president helped him but having an appealing platform that outcompeted everyone else’s (and a better record re Iraq war, he voted against it as senator unlike Clinton) won him the popular mandate that led to the landslide in the general. Against a formidable candidate! John McCain was no joke and I think todays democrats and even progressives would be thrilled to have him as president if he were still alive compared to our current options.

The blue no matter who voters have no morals or ethics and consider this a team sport, and the democrats are their team. They don’t criticize their team or hold them accountable, when they lose, they blame everyone else but themselves for not having higher standards.

The democrats refused to hold a competitive primary and are now crying and carrying on like spoiled rotten children that they lost. Anyone paying any attention at all could of seen this coming from a mile away. Smug elites who think they know better than the people who’s votes they need to be elected. If you took every single third party vote across the country and gave all of them to Harris in just the swing states (some democracy we’ve got…) trump still would have won, in a landslide no less. And still won the senate, and it looks like the house is still projected to go Republican as well.

I’m a Vermonter. Vermont was going in a landslide to Harris (president), sanders (senate), and Scott (governor) no matter who I voted for on any of those lines. I voted third party in all three of those races (I once worked for the sanders campaign in 2015 but I’m so tired of his milquetoast bullshit as of late) and then in other local races it was a split ticket. For example, Vermonts Republican running for state treasurer wants to divest state pensions from blackrock. Meanwhile, the democrat incumbent just gave typical mealymouthed democrat party platitudes that were completely meaningless. The Republican in that race got my vote because they earned it.

This is definitely something serious that we shouldn’t downplay. I’m of the belief (in agreement with you) that the parties are mostly the same, and the dems just talk a whole lot of talk on domestic stuff and then do worse than nothing. But the christofascists backing trump are far more terrifying than trump himself and they’re not going anywhere, they vastly predate his political career. But in the past they were a weird loud minority, they still are but they’re not such a small minority anymore and THAT is fucking terrifying.

Obviously you can’t go back in time but you should of voted for the down ballot candidates that are pertinent to your day to day life where you live, and then voted third party or even left it blank for the president.

Your local candidates at the state and lower level have nothing to do with Gaza but do decide if your schools are properly staffed and if your potholes are filled, etc.
