  • He was known as Lekkerbeetje. Lekkerbekje is fried fish originating from Ijmuiden.

In the winter of 1599–1600, a lull in the campaigning season, the Dutch cuirassiers garrisoned in 's-Hertogenbosch brought in a French prisoner, a cavalry lieutenant in the service of the Republic. When the prisoner wrote to his captain, Pierre de Bréauté, asking that money be sent to ransom him, Bréauté replied that he should be ashamed at having been captured, since any one of his men should be worth two of the enemy. Abrahams, hearing of the letter’s content, challenged Bréauté to meet him on Vught Heath with equal numbers to put his boast to the test.

The two officers obtained permission from their commanders, and the combat took place on 5 February 1600. Abrahams was the first casualty, being shot through the neck in the first charge.

  • Advertising on TV and radio stations here in the Netherlands is heavily regulated so people aren’t constantly exposed to ads, while these manifacturers can do whatever they like. It is time to start regulating TV manifacturers on data collection and showing (personalized) ads. Shit’s getting Orwellian.

After my LG C3 started showing ads I disabled the smart TV part and now use external players only for all our TV’s. I don’t trust TV screen manifacturers the slightest bit.

  • Thank you for taking the time to give me such an elaborate response.

Ex musician and DJ here. I have a high screech and a low rumble. I can hear my own heart rate too. It is sometimes very claustrofobic so indeed I need noise to cope. Haven’t looked into noise generators as I cope with fans but I really need them to sleep. I know of therapy to cope mentally, but haven’t looked into it yet as I seem to manage with fan noise and the music loops. As for depression, my mom was a violent person so my depression comes mostly from there. It is also why I am early retired. Doing the housekeeping now and it does make me happy being there for my fam. I still make music and kept my studio but it is a hobby now.

All the best to you daggermoon!

  • Life goes on as you say, but it worries me, I feel sorry for you. I hope you have a routine to cope it daggermoon and I would like to know how you manage.

I play loops of music in my head to cope. It is tiresome, feels like a fairground. I wish I could experience just one day without tinnitus.
