10 months agoI mean, using “female” to refer to another human is pretty demeaning imo, though stifling discussion isn’t a good look. I can’t imagine the “discussion” around this was super productive though, knowing Reddit.

OP wouldn’t need it because their point is to say that the lander was just made from household items and staged to look like it was on the moon. To them, there’s nothing functional in that photo.
The thing is, it’s usually long enough after his comments have had their impact that these additions are made. It’s really his having/eating cake feature. He can say some out and out false shit, it gets picked up by his base and spread, the community mod a day or two later goes “actually”, and if someone calls him out he can just say “oh but the community mod set things right” if he doesn’t just outright ignore it.

I’m just gonna come right out and say “no”? We can’t handle individual care well at all. If we had UBI, actual Medicare for all, and sane safety nets this would be largely mitigated. Shoving people in institutions always results in negative outcomes. It shows a lack of care for those affected to placate those who are inconvenienced.
We can’t do anything about gun violence but the “scourge of mentally ill violence” is the real thing to address? Fuck that.

Right - we humans are generally most concerned with what’s “comfortable”. That’s a fun spin on “being able to live”. The earth will be fine with or without us, we’re just doing a good job of shooting for “without”.
