The way all of this is discussed and phrased paints a sort picture, in some peoples minds, of white men being evil. The problem is that this capitalist society is too isolatating, individualistic, and distracting for everyone to properly empathize with the struggles of others, so we end up with these people on the defensive. We’re left with a portion of the population supporting a proper biggot like trump to now justify they’re own existence.

If only we could have all been properly educated… but its all just distracting from the fact that everyone suffers from an oppressive and exploitative system, some more than others. But its probably about time for a more uniting class conscience form of rhetoric.

Its the electric motors that should outlast an ICE vehicles. Its just a simpler design with less moving parts. They use rotational energy directly rather than converting translational energy via pistons and a drive train requiring a transmission, lubrication, cooling, and regular maintanence. Non of that is hardly needed with an ev, at least to a signifactly smaller degree. An induction motor doesn’t even have parts that touch anything to rotate.

Not to mention that should a battery technology develop with anything close to the energy density of gasoline, evs should be able to achieve ranges in the 1000s of miles.

100% agree that the hardware and software should be open sourced though.

Aside from the batteries needing to be replaced at some point, electric vehicles should far outlast their ICE counterparts. A significant breakthrough in batteries could make that well worth it.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with some level of selfish individuality but coupled with a capitalist organizations goal of ever increasing profit at the direct expense and exploitation of others and the environment, that’s practically textbook sociopathy.

I got heavy use out of that one as a teaching assistant in grad school during the pandemic. I used a cheap wacom drawing pad.

I think this kind of work is necessary regardless of what happens. Join an organization and start building alternative systems and structures and try to advocate for policy changes that will support these alternatives. Here are some links to leftist organizations doing some of that work. You can also look into starting or joining cooperatives and/or land trusts in your area as some ideas to get started.

I originally wanted to do what you’ve done, but eventually fell on the idea that the country is essentially beyond saving. Should this hold true, the best option then is to join a grassroots movement and begin building an alternative economy from the ground up as a ready replacement for the collapse of the current system. Join a socialist organization, work for a land trust, start building cooperatives and alternative food systems, etc.

At least you won’t use up that bandwidth routing traffic through pihole. You also get a nice cache for faster loading on frequented sites.
