Yeah I’m sorry if this is insensitive but a lot of this sounds like common cultural expectations for women from east Asian backgrounds. You guys could probably have a discussion about how you understand gender roles and how her upbringing might have informed her.
2·5 months agoLe mal n’existe pas de Hamaguchi (je crois que ça s’écrit comme ça). Le seul autre film de lui que j’avais vu était Drive My Car et ça n’a rien à voir. Le scénario est très simple et on en sort dans savoir vraiment ce que le film veut nous dire. J’ai trouvé ça très sombre au final, pas du tout ce que j’attendais !

6·1 year agoYouth unemployment is already really high in China. With deflation, you could expect unemployment to also rise in other age groups.

1·1 year agoMy knowledge might be outdated but my understanding is that maglev is still unreliable and frequently breaks down or has to operate at slower speeds. Not yet a completely mature technology I think… but very interesting for sure.

1·1 year agoPaper/cardboard recycling is also mature technologically and a net benefit for the environment.
Because they’re scared that more doctors will mean more competition and lower wages. They don’t care that access to healthcare is currently difficult in Korea because in part of the lack of doctors.
