Sweet of you to offer. It was I believe a cover instrumental of Tonight from west side story. I don’t recall the cover of the 8 track itself. It came with a new gmc van in the early 70s. My dad worked for the dealer in town, drove the van home to show us and it was a factory sampler 8 track cassette. I’ve found many online but not that particular one, nor that particular cover version of the tune. Just odd, as most things I search for I can find.

I’ve looked for an 8 track demo cassette from GMC back in the early 70s that had a particular song on it. I’ve looked off and on for over 5 years at least… most recently last week. Still nothing.

The whole bull running and bull fighting… I don’t like it at all.

A few other military veterans and a few friends from 20 plus years of irl friendship, and our host son, his wife and kids. Not all of them know each other.

This was back in 82 so I should have expected it… my dad was a mechanic and I learned from him so I was a bit blindsided… I got out of mechanics and the military and into self employment in computers so things are indeed better. Thank you for the kind wishes!

When I joined the army I was trained to be a generator mechanic. My final test to graduate I scored 99%… my first duty station, my bosses didn’t like female mechanics and put me in the tool cage, signing tools in and out… I hated it. Glad you have support from your male coworkers and manager!
