Russia’s main goal in geopolitics is the ending of American dominance in international politics.
To be blunt, if you’re not a Western imperialist, this is something that should not only be supported, but actively worked towards.
So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that China and the DPRK both want the same thing, and are both willing to work with Russia to achieve it. And it’s no surpirse that the only governments that oppose a multi-polar world are the US and its puppets.
Despite having a capitalist government and reactionary policies, Russia is deserving of critical support.
My thoughts exactly. And also, they are currently fighting against literal nazis, so as much as there is to criticize Russia for you at least have to give them massive props for that. I love my AES states but we also have to be honest and say that none of them are currently shedding blood to push the imperialists back like Russia is doing. The only other countries putting their bodies on the line to physically fight the imperialists and their proxies are Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria and Iran (and an honorable mention goes to Afghanistan for recently having kicked out the Yankees).
Russia is textbook critical support. I’ve elaborated on this several times, but I’ll spare everyone the copypasta.
It’s pretty cringe and unreliable, but American hegemony forcing Russia to support anti-imperialists is extremely useful.
Marriage of convenience. Russia can’t form an anti-american bloc exclusively with countries with identical forms of govt.
