“The elephant in the room is that not everyone in the alliance is yet spending 2% of their GDP on defence. That must be the floor for our defence spending, not the ceiling.”

I’m seeing some perverse cross between a beggar with a tin cup and a reverend passing the tithing plate around, staring you down like he’s thinking about what you look like vivisected when you pass it along without giving his corrupt ass a dime. “YOU’RE NOT SPENDING YOUR TWO PERCENT VASSAL WHERE’S YOUR TWO PERCENT”

"We need large volumes. The just-in-time, just-enough economy we built together in 30 years in our liberal economies is fine for a lot of things - but not the armed forces when there is a war ongoing

The privatized MIC grift economy isn’t actually suitable for purpose? shocked-pikachu

I love how any discussion of homelessness or housing affordability or healthcare or education has to tiptoe around the holy canon of the Free Market ™ but when it comes to bloodshed the military can have a bit of central planning, as a treat.

Well duh…how else is the US going to turn this into an ever lasting quagmire with the sole intention of keeping the US economy running?? Did you even think of that? Smh
