I am consulting my Evertonian mates but it was a surprise to me. Perhaps it’s because the Israeli flag has the same shade of blue in it, while the Palestinian flag has no blue but some read. Might sound crazy but I know plenty of blue noses with a vehement hatred of red.

“Grass” is slang for a snitch/informer. There are a bunch of proposed etymologies, including rhyming slang (grasshopper = copper), but none of them are very convincing.
I’ve never heard any rhyming slang that didn’t seem like a joke was being had at the expense of sanity, but I take your meaning. Thanks though, I knew it must be something along those lines

The one that gets me is “aris” as it’s a two-stepper: Aristotle -> bottle -> bottle and glass -> arse. It also relies on the the southern pronunciation of “glass”, as most ones for arse do (unlike Hagen Daas).
Days like this, I wish English was my first and zeroth language, rather than just my first.

It could also be rhyming island from “grass in the park” -> nark.
