Not surprised about this news, especially with Requiem of Vengeance being so mid.

I still need to get around to Robot Jox and Gunhed. For some reason, I never fit in too many live action mecha movies lol
That plot twist at the end of Robot Jox was actually quite cool.
It’s my favourite example of how “B-movie” doesn’t automatically mean “bad movie”. Robot Jox is certainly a B-movie, but it’s a damn good one.
Mecha battling mecha is like the perfect slop for me.

As much as I love the UC and the One Year War I hope Tomino does an original screenplay. I’d hate to see the movie just be another rehash of Amuro vs. Char.

I’d expect it to be Yasuhiko if anyone from the original staff puts their hands on it, to be honest. Tomino’s been trying to make Gundam (thematically) but not Gundam (the franchise) for his entire career now - I would be shocked if they managed to get him involved in this.
