Agree with the crooked hand (am ex UK forces so I accept US have a different salute) but personal style shouldn’t come into it. That should have been twice around the parade square in double time!
Idk about UK forces, but in the US Army and Air Force, how you wear your hat or beret is about the only form of personal expression you get. Watch shows like Band of Brothers, or Masters of the Air, and you’ll see the guys with more attitude tip their hat more to one side than the other. Of course there’s a regulation way to wear it, and you can get busted if a CO feels like it, but it’s mostly overlooked outside of training and parade.
