I’ve acquired so many cats in my life completely by accident. One cat we adopted as a stray. She wandered into our house one day and just made herself at home. We’d let her out but she’d come back every night. We eventually found her owners a year on the street next to ours and they were like “Well, she could have come back any time but she clearly chose you guys so we’re cool if you want to keep her.” She had a litter of kittens before we got her fixed and we kept three of them. It started when I was in fourth grade and her last kitten passed away when I’d grown and left home. That one chance encounter gave me joy for nearly 15 years.
Yeah me neither. Where I live there really aren’t many stray cats, and certainly not around where people live. It’s a good thing though because I would definitely keep every cat if they would just walk into my house.
Only one of my cats wedged their lives into my life meanwhile all the cats my grandfather were dropped into his lap from people assuming his barn was abandoned and unintentionally gave him their unwanted pets

I don’t think I haven’t ever owned a cat that just wedged itself into my life. They all just showed up
Edited to clarify that all the cats I owned, wedged themselves into my life

I have. Jumped out of a bush and latched onto my leg as a kitten
I just reread what I posted and realized it said the opposite of what I meant
