Used to be able to force the junior most guy to dangling over the side, 200 feet off the water while cruising at 20 knots, on a Bosun’s Chair* just to cover up rust with some paint (that will bleed through the paint in a week) to impress losers. Can’t anymore, because of woke.
As a technical side note to show how stupid this person is, the Green Bay is based out of San Diego, and common practice is to paint the sides in Pearl Harbor so it looks good when it arrives in its home port after a deployment. Doing this work in port is safer and more effective, as you can use a boom lift to have a stable platform and not fall to your death, and actually remove the rust instead of just painting over it.
