Yeah the millennial version of F.R.I.E.N.D.S is How I Met Your Mother, which is the marginally better white people in New York sitcom due to being slightly less homophobic.
Neil Patrick Harris’s character did untold psychological damage to a generation of men. HIMYM is worse just for the bro code and introducing the word “epic” into the cultural milieu
friends falls of hard after like 4 seasons but early on it clears HIMYM for comedy writing quality. HIMYM is just big bang theory level unbearable for me
Elder millenials seemed to be obsessed with friends back in like 2014. Now there’s been some backlash so it’s cool not to like friends anymore, but many people are still on that train.
My friend was purposefully annoying his colleague by saying F.R.I.E.N.D.S was better than Seinfeld back in 2014, said colleague was smarmy and condescending and it nettled him a lot
The kicker is he only ever saw one singular episode in its entirety where two of the (male) F.R.I.E.N.D.S went into their respective bedrooms after seeing 2 girls kiss (with the implication that they were going to masturbate???), which co-incidentally is one of the 2 episodes I’ve seen (the other being the tall one upset that Freddie Prinze Jr is a male nanny)
Now wait a tic, friends belong to genx don’t put that shit on us we got enough on our plates

Think “Millenial” sitcoms start properly around That 70s Show or Scrubs at earliest.

.
It’s definitely funnier though ¯_(ツ)_/¯

how i met your mother is way more transphobic though and less funny
ok but my favorite fan theory is that Robin is Trans and afraid to come out to her bigoted friends.
