    He mentioned the following.

“some of them are so bad, we don’t even trust the countries to hold them, because we don’t want them coming back.”

I think it is more to send a signal than a well thought out policy but indeed good question.

I didn’t vote for Trump but I always support my president. I supported Biden. Obama. Etc. we should always want to be successful as their success is our success.

That said, I am 100% against this and it ticks me off that he’s talking about it. All Americans should be concerned if we start shipping people to gitmo

I can’t vote for Trump (I’m Dutch). Would have probably voted for him though. Another 4 years of Biden would have made Europe a Marxists paradise. Trump still might not change it but at least there is some push back now.

I don’t understand the ‘I will always support my president’ - maybe that’s a US thing. If you think the guy is a nutcase, why support him. The US is more than a president. Companies, states and people can thrive under bad management.

Not sure what to think of the Guantanamo Bay policy. If it is only used for low life criminals I am not too bothered with it. If it causes randomly sending illegals there and treating them inhumanly I wouldn’t support that.

The point is that your guy doesn’t always win, but as a country, we need to support our leadership. Otherwise, nothing gets done, and people just bitch for four years.

That doesn’t mean you can’t disagree from time to time or vote against them, but the constant everything that person does is bad, is just counterproductive. Trump could cure the answer, and the left would still complain about it. That doesn’t help our country move forward.

On reddit there is a bot attack where people are saying let’s list all the MAGA places and stop doing business with them. It is funny when people realize many of the places they love and people they know supported Trump and they wouldn’t have anywhere to go if they stopped doing business with MAGA people.

Yeah, a good buddy of mine is a hardcore socialist and I am a libertarian. We sometimes talk politics and still have fun. Why not. Discuss and let the best argument win.

Most important is a decent attitude and have the respect to listen to someones opinions. I don’t believe socialists are evil but I do believe a lot of their policies are. Even if the intention is good. I am a libertarian but not an anarchist so that means I do believe there is a role for governments. I think that’s an interesting start for a friendly conversation with anyone 🍻

I am a republican but my beliefs are not well aligned with the modern republican movement. I don’t care if someone is gay ,trans, etc. The social war is stupid to me. I believe in the right of a person to do what they want as long as they are not hurting others. All this social crap is a distraction from what we should be doing.

                  • I don’t think most MAGA think gay or trans is a problem as well. The democrats pushed this agenda over the top and it was getting ridiculous. For me personally I just want to see DOGE succeed ] I don’t care about the rest. Too much bureaucrats and regulations. Glad the tarrifs are not implemented (for now) as everyone feared. It will be a wild ride, but tbh I really think it is needed. Whatever comes out of this will be better. Cleaning up needs to be done. Government spending is/was out of control.

Hope DOGE and Milei will be an example for the EU where bureaucracy and regulation is an even bigger problem.
