      Yeah I immediately realized after posting this that I had even seen this video before. But it was lost deep in the memory banks.

      I had no idea doge was connected to HSR though. How do Nazis always end up ruining wholesome internet art?

        How do Nazis always end up ruining wholesome internet art?

        In general, Nazis lack empathy and therefore also lack imagination, so they suck at creating their own art and resort to co-opting other people’s art instead.

        Also, any art they did manage to create themselves would immediately be tainted as “Nazi art,” which means it would lack the plausible deniability/benefit of the doubt that is so essential to its purpose of radicalizing normies.

        Pepe the frog was originally a pretty chill comic as well. I recall the creator being pretty pissed off that his character was co-opted by a bunch of bigoted chuds.

        “Doge” is also a Venetian leader’s title which comes from the Latin “dux”, and thus is related to Mussolini’s title “Duce”. Nazis love dogwhistles, and making one whose surface meaning hints at it being a dogwhistle must have been irresistible for them.
