There was no conversation, it was a top level comment. The person was relaying their experience, not praising China as much as pointing out how sad EV offerings in the west are.

If it’s up to me, I rather Gaza and Trump (and trumpified musk) never happened so there are less reasons non-US people prefer Chinese products.
If you think the takeaway was praising China and not warning about what it will do if the US keeps fucking up, that’s your own problem.
