Often sci-fi films will modify guns to look more futuristic. That isn’t always necessary.
Calicos look sci-fi by themselves, alright.
Though modifying a Calico gave us the “Chinese M1-L1 triple-pulse rifle” from Deep Rising, which looks cool and is delightfully absurd. I mean, a 9mm Gatling submachine gun with a 100-round helical magazine? That’s just the right kind of stupid.
“The right kind of stupid” perfectly defines Deep Rising in general.
Spaceballs: the Flamethrower! Kids love this one.
The funniest part is they technically did make one, that is if you consider slapping a sticker on a flamethrower making they’re of stuff.
Spaceballs: The Gun!
I new there was something missing in my life. Just didn’t know what until now.
You idiot! You’ve captured a stunt double!
It’s also a gun in the game Jagged Alliance 2!
That is bizarre.
“The M100 is a blowback-operated semi-automatic rifle chambered in .22 LR… a unique 100-round helical-fed magazine mounted on top of the weapon”
And I’m down the rabbit hole.

My hair! He shot my hair!
Son of a BITCH!
Are there any games that have this bad boy in them?

I was going to type this all out but halfway down I realized how many that’d be so here’s a link with games that have it in one form or another: https://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Calico_Series_of_Rifles_and_Pistols#Video_Games
Tldr: Not many popular ones but a few recognizable older franchises like Resident Evil, Fallout, and James Bond.
Whoa it’s in Fallout?! Gotta be Tactics. That one has a lotta guns and I’ve never made it beyond the 3rd mission (the game is hard as fuck).
Exactly, the earliest Fallouts were a who’s who of weird guns.
