I shut down my subscriptions to every service last year. The only one I have is prime that I pay for because the streaming was a bonus on top of what I was originally paying for. And PlutoTV and Tubi because they’re free.

Prime kind of gets you. Anymore if you don’t have it, shipping is about as fast, you may have to pay a few bucks. But then Amazon will give you discounts and try to get you to renew your subscription with massive discounts.

Honestly, I have Prime now for the video service more than for the shipping.

Yeah the shipping is now what 2-3 days instead of guaranteed 2 day. So kinda pointless when you get 3-5 day shipping free as long as you spend $35. I only get Prime when they throw in a free trial to an order I already have.

I’ve barely used the video service. There are so many cheap/free ways to pirate and have everything from everywhere all in one place these days. And without the risk of ISP letters or lawsuits that torrents had in the old days.

          True.

I’m working on setting up a media server again, and expanding my media collection.

It’s just a bit of getting started, and making it work seamlessly.
