Oddly the op doesnt mention anything about Russia or China but the comments do.

Also the contents of the link to “General trolling” are fucking hilarious. Those poor Canadian feelings :(((((

I kind of agree with our admins that we should have not been using PPB in other instances, but its funny that they mentioned it TWICE.

okay, i know the libs often accuse us of not having experienced “the real world” and saying we’ll grow out of socialism, but how can you possibly not hate landlords? like, genuinely do they still live with their parents? have they never had to deal with a landlord themselves? i’ve got two of them fucking me right now because i’m trying to move and holy shit its taking so much restraint not to say some mao-wtf tier shit

Especially in a Canadian instance. Our rental and housing markets are even less affordable than the US lol

This is what I don’t get about Canadian online spaces, like subreddits for cities or provinces in Canada.

A ridiculous percentage of posters in all of these spaces are landlords or landlord supporters. I just don’t get it. Why is it like this?

It’s because 60% of Canadians are landlords, and the remaining 40% wish they were. We’ve had to pounded into us from birth that housing is the surest bet in the world and the only way to escape the matrix.

I had a good landlord (in an apartment, because apparently that makes a difference) who was on top of his shit, got maintenance done in a timely manner, kept the place looking good, accepted checks for the rent, bare minimum stuff. He sold the place to this slimy piece of shit who immediately started renovations on any unit that became vacant because of rent increases. He had the fucking nerve to complain about my dog barking when construction crews were doing demolition and sawing tiles and shit right across the complex from my unit. That’s when I said fuck renting and bought a house.

He was not a good landlord. He was maybe an otherwise cool guy and might have been doing his genuine best to fulfill his obligations (unlike most landlords) but he was still taking money from you for the use of your home. It’s unjustifiable parasitism from the outset

the thing is, you could just hire people to do those things. but instead the system allows someone to leech on you and not allow you to build equity for late life so you can retire. and even when you buy a house, the banks are rentseeking in their loans
