If everyone was equal to begin with you’d be right but they aren’t. Putting a female or foreign sounding name on a CV results in less responses. So those people should be given a boost because they’re already behind. Disabled people are already at a disadvantage so giving them an advantage doesn’t make anyone else worse off. It’s not a zero sum game.
