The researchers are testing a new drug derived from the venom of the Brazilian wandering spider (Phoneutria nigriventer), also called the banana spider because it is sometimes accidentally exported in banana shipments. It is one of the most toxic species of spiders in the world.

Among other symptoms — including increased blood pressure, nausea, abdominal cramps and convulsions — this spider’s bite can cause a “prolonged and painful erection, which can lead to necrosis of the penis,” meaning death of its tissues

    Sounds fun

That’s what I want, an ED treatment where taking too much risks my dick falling off.

I mean, that’s kinda a risk with any ED medicine from what I understand. All of those kind of medicines have warnings about if you have an erection lasting more than x hours that you need to immediately see a Dr. When you’re erect, the blood is trapped in your penis, and if it’s trapped for too long it can cause tissue damage and tissue death.

So it’s a risk with all/most ED medicines, just significantly more of a risk with spider bites.
