The hurdles people have to go through to get mental health care in the US are not helping. Even with health insurance. Have you ever tried to find a decent therapist or psychiatrist through your insurance? What a disaster.

    • I’m sorry, this therapist moved/closed and I have no idea why they’re still listed by your insurer.

    • I’m sorry, this therapist no longer takes your insurance/never took this insurance. I have no idea why they’re still listed by your insurance

    • I’m sorry, this doctor is no longer taking new patients.

    • I’m sorry, this doctor didn’t bother to show up for your appointment and the office is closed. Guess that’s what happens when your insurer only works with the lowest bidder.

    • I’m sorry, this doctor sucks/is a crackpot. Guess that’s what happens when your insurer only works with the lowest bidder.

    • So glad to finally see some proof this isn’t just me. I have insurance, it covers therapy; I tried for 2 years to see a therapist, and every single time it would be an appointment 6 months later, I would show up, check in, wait 30 minutes to an hour and then have a staff member inform me that the doctor had to reschedule due to an emergency or some other conflict. Every time. For 2 years.

They are understaffed, don’t give a fuck, and in the middle of a mental health crisis. They’re super available to cram pills down your throat, though. 😬

Yeah that was largely my own experience too. It’s only gonna get worse since they will do nothing to fix it.
