Pavlos Fyssas was a Greek anti-fascist rapper who was killed by members of the fascist group Golden Dawn on this day in 2013.

Fyssas, also known as “Killah P” (“Killer of the Past”), came from a working class family. He and his father were both members of the Piraeus metal union. Pavlos had been active hip hop since 1997 and is well-known for his left-wing, anti-fascist lyrics.

On September 18th, 2013, Fyssas was fatally stabbed by Giorgios Roupakias, a member and employee of the neo-fascist party Golden Dawn. Following his death, there were a series of protests and rallies against Golden Dawn throughout Europe.

During one protest in Athens, attended by 2,500-10,000 people, anti-fascists began marching towards Golden Dawn’s central offices and were arrested and beaten by police. On November 1st, 2013, a shooting took place at the Golden Dawn’s Neo Irakleio offices in Athens, killing two members.

In October 2020, sixty-eight members of Golden Dawn were declared part of a criminal organization, and fifteen were convicted in charges relating to Pavlos’ murder.

When asked about Pavlos’ character by Al Jazeera, his mother stated “You’re asking a mother about what kind of a person her son was. He was a free man.”

"The world has become a big prison

and I’m looking for a way to break the chains

Let them come and find me at the mountain top, I’m waiting for them and I will not bother with fear."

Woke up this morning to walk to work, put in my headphones, turned on CumTown. Listened to it all day at work, occasionally pausing to look at a CumTown animation or compilation on YouTube. Got home, turned my headphones off, set them on their charger, picked up my bluetooth computer headset, turned it on, played a CumTown livestream. The livestream started buffering and I didn’t want to wait so I opened a file called cumtown dot fpl on my computer which opens Foobar2000 with a CumTown playlist set to shuffle. I think I have a problem.

Nah unity I downloaded to my phone all episodes, including premiums and pods they were guests on again and am now listening to that in chronological order, from May 2016 to December 2022. It’s 867 hours total and this’ll be my third full re-listen. I’m just autistic and like the repetition

Ah, see I’m a shuffle enjoyer. I like to have a random set of episodes I listen to everyday. Sometimes you get the same episode too close together, sometimes you hear one you haven’t heard in a while. It’s like a box of chocolates: you always know you’re going to get chocolate.

Oh I did that before! My first two listen-throughs were on shuffle, and between those and this one I listened to random YouTube comps. I liked having to place the context of what I was listening to - like, this is the first ep with Adam, or this was before the Japan trip, or this was during Nick’s 2nd manic episode, etc.

But I was kinda forced to do that because VLC wouldn’t sort things by date, so only by name, which resulted in a random order. Until now I hadn’t figured out a way to quickly and easily en-masse rename them (used a built-in feature in Linux fedora that sequentially put 001, 002, etc. in front of the original title). And now I have the option to, chronological seems like it could be fun.

I like your twist on the chocolate metaphor

if I did that my manager would sit me down and explain why he found the bit about the guy with the 100 ft penis that’s always hard so funny and deliberately impress upon me that my taste in podcasts is becoming a HR issue due to all the women who have gained an uncontrollable desire to pat me on the head like a housecat
