  • I play disc golf and my city has a weekly random doubles league which is more focused on making friends than competition. I joined a community organization to push our local officials to fix stuff. I also try to take art classes when possible. I’ve done all that stuff for a year now and still only really have acquaintances or distant friends, it will take time to figure out which ones I truly feel comfortable with and can confide in. For reference most people I see at these things are 30+, those folks are slower to warm up to each other since they usually have adult commitments. I did a lot of these same activities in my 20s too and you’re right it was easier to become close with people in a shorter timeframe than it is now.

  • I’ve been doing a thing the last few years and I would like more of you to do this thing.

Whenever people talk about irregular bowel movements or loose stool from certain dietary choices. I interrupt them and inform them that I have a much different experience than theirs and that my bowel movements are regular and consistent texture no matter my diet. I then give them recommendations to several doctors in the area that they could visit to further understand these issues they are having.

I do this because first of all I am grossed out by this topic so I ensure that everyone involved be uncomfortable. I also have genuine concern for these people’s health and need to get through to them that what is happening in their guts is not normal and that they may need help.
