You know the drill, ThE gArDeN had a thread about romani people and Measurehead would blush.

uhm, all americans hate black people
Speak for yourself, asshole.
They were paraphrasing what the reddit comments say in that thread
Yeah I know I’m responding to those redditors lol

They were responding to the redditors you were paraphrasing
Sorry, it’s a habit many of us have in this community, of responding to posts about assholes as though we’re responding to the assholes themselves. I feel like that habit might be really confusing to newcomers and make them think we’re weirdly hostile to people just posting normally.

so, as a weird consequence of these kinda threads, all I know about romani and travelers is the “anecdotes” of europeans insisting they’re not racist, while saying exactly the sort of thing people say after they’ve insisted their not racist. Are there any books or resources that give a better understanding? It’s just kinda culture-shock to me that there are still people living nomadic (is that the right term?) lives on the other side of the Atlantic, when over here… well. I’d like to know more. How do modern cities and states accommodate them? And, more realistically it seems, how do cites and states fail to accommodate them?
There are Romani people in so-called america too and the burgers that are aware of that or proximate to them are just as racist towards them as euros. Their incarceration rates are similar to other targeted groups you’re more familiar with.
least deserving euroid
I heard stories about how there are gypsies who take advantage of the refugees from Ukraine and Syria.
The inclusion of Syria here really goes to show how flexible their racism is. They might not like Syrians, but they’ll sure as hell pretend they do for a moment if it lets them be racist against someone else.
