I’m convinced he used the force to manipulate the fuck outta Padme.

It’s the only explanation for how those pickup lines worked.

They worked because she was a groomer just waiting for him to be old enough. They both sucked.

Enh, he was a little kid, powerful in the force but untrained, and it makes perfect sense (and is perfectly normal) for a kid growing up to get the hots for the older woman. And he may have unintentionally used the force to manipulate her.

        Or she’s a groomer and he’s a child-murderer. Who knows?

In AotC he was a horny teenager, with deep insecurities, an inability to accept fault, and overflowing with the force.

It could have been an accident, but I don’t think it was. AoTC anakin was already expressing might-makes-right idealogy … which is directly counter to Parme’s democratic beliefs.

Edit: It’s important to remember, anakin was 5 years younger. 30’s not so big a deal. 19? She was 24, already progressing into an established career.

Also watch the reunion seen in AoTC; she was happy to see him, but not in the way he was happy to see her. (She seemed more inclined to Obi, actually. Can’t blame her. Obi was literally the perfect Jedi.)

Honestly, somewhere once, I read a kinda big write up about this and i liked it. Of course it can’t be what really happened because that would involve somewhat deep thought being put into the plot but its fun to think about.

So I watched TPM again. in part because of this.

So… I could be wrong… I could be reading way too much into way too little. but. I noticed in the scene where Quiggy told Anakin and Shmi that Anakin was free; Quiggy was a little to… intimate…? for a guy that stopped over for shelter from a storm. Quiggy totally got some.

now, here’s the scene where, Padme steps forward to reveal her self to Boss Nass.

now, with the affore mentioned interaction with Shmi in mind… and realizing that Quigon always played a bit fast and loose with the rules… pay attention to that look he gives Obi. And the look Obi gives him. uhuhuh. sure, that could be…ah… suprise… but that’s a smirk. a knowing smirk.

Now, Check the scene in AoTC; where annie reunites with padme. She’s all eye contact and ‘you’ve been away too long’, and then she notices annie. Like a trained diplomate, she’s smooth “my how you’ve grown!” and “you’ll always be that little boy!” irritation and awkwardness of unrequited…interest.

Now here’s the deleted scene where she flat out tells her family that he’s just a body guard, not a boyfriend.

so, gotta say, yeah. he definitely used the force to coerce her.

I have a better explanation: George Lucas is a shit writer and decided their relationship made sense.
