My coping mechanism is to never throw packages away until I’m done cooking. Of course that effectively means that there’s leftover packages on my kitchen counter for days…

Use your phone to take a photo
Then I have to pull my phone out of the trash can 15 seconds later.
Instructions were clear, but now I have cake batter on my phone.
Cooking times are one of the few things my mind can commit to memory. Hot pockets from frozen are 2:30 in an 1100 watt microwave.
For microwave food I just use the longest cooking time on the packaging, because I’ve never gotten around to checking what sort of microwave I actually have.
I have a 1250 watt so I usually have to set the power to 90% to be the same and get even results. I had a 750w once… That shit sucked. Had to double, sometimes triple the times.
Can you please attribute this, according to my mother it’s by Adrienne Hedger
I like that their name contains the letters ADHD in order

Done
Thanks!
To combat this I set the packages directly across from wherever I’m cooking, instruction side facing me.
Remembering to throw it out after though??? Impossible task.
Recycle cardboard boxes tho
Take a picture of the package. Helps alot keeping things tidy, and if needed you can also change the packagings.
Did it say 425 or 450 degrees?
Wait - fuck - was it 35 or 45 minutes?
Or “throw box away thinking I remember the directions from previous time, then pick box out of garbage.”
Ha…I do this with microwave pizza all the time and electronics instructions. 350 22 minutes…how could I forget that in the time it takes to preheat the oven and set a timer? Dog collar…charge it, turn it on, who could forget that? Dammit.
Microwave WHAT??
I get around this by making so much pastaroni that I have the instructions memorized by this point
