If you are putting something in a special place, SAY IT OUT LOUD while you are still looking at it. “I’m putting the screwdriver on this shelf.”

You’ll still forget but you’ll feel extra dumb when you finally find it again.

Protip: when you’re looking for something and you find it, don’t put it back where you found it. Put it in the first place you looked.

I’ll put it here (in this special place I never put anything) so I’ll remember it.

It’s a LIE and I fall for it every time!

There’s nothing quite like buying a new one of some lost thing and upon deciding on the perfect place to keep it, finding the original…

edit: bonus ADD points if you find two originals there

Out of sight out of mind, so chaos is where I thrive… At least I loose lot less things if them all are where I can see them

My chart needs one more option taking up half while the other two occupy a quarter.

“The last place I used it” is the answer usually around half the time.

Our problem is we can’t remember the last place we used it. Executive dysfunction is definitely cruel.

This is why I’ve had to start putting things in specific spots. And I have to be very intentional about it otherwise I’m going “I’ll put it here so I remember it” and poof it’s gone.

For me it’s, “I shouldn’t be doing this. I’ll never find it again. This is an awful place to put this,” as I commit to setting something down in the abyss.

I like to balance things in absolutely awful places. Like I’ll have a platter full of minis that are ready to be painted or a tray full of hundreds of tiny electric components and I’ll set them down on top of a closed water bottle??? Why???

I have this shitty ability that I remember better about where other people left something than where I left what I had in my hands.

Actually me. I see someone set something down and my brain says, “when Bill asks where his wallet is, we’ll know where it’s at! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽”

Bill never asks where his wallet is, and I don’t know where mine is.
