50 hours playing thr game 3 new saves and every fucking time I either get stuck at genichiro or owl. Why. I just have a wall with this game.

There are easy mode mods but they’re too easy I just want like a tiny advantage just a crumb more damage so the fight doesn’t last 10 hours torturing my ADHD ass brain to focus the entire time.

Almost every boss in this game is like the worst boss in a souls game. Just takes too fucking long.

Fuck it I’m gonna mod a greatsword in and clobber all the bosses away.

Edit: well i did genichiro

Well I’ve started from new game 3 times. First I got to Owl with some cheese guides second i got to genichiro (first fight) and gave up. Now i did new game again and speed ran to genichiro again.

I basically demolished every boss leading up to it (except ogre fuck you ogre) including lady butterfly and i just get stuck on genichiro cos the fight just goes on and on and on and on. I don’t know when to get his vitality down so i just end up having no health by the time I’m at his stupid lightning phase.

The first time i killed him it felt like a fluke cos i can’t repeat it. Unlike lady butterfly who i can demolish quite easily.

I have vitality 12 atk power 3 dnow if its worth exploring to get those higher? Don’t think there are any bosses I have easy access to from this point

So here’s what I’ll say, Geni is basically a test for the game. To really beat him reliably, you have to keep moving forward. You should pretty much only be parrying and pushing forward for the most part. From then on in the game, that’s how you should be playing. Don’t cheese. Just keep trying until you get it down.

One thing I will ask - what are you playing this on? Is there a lot of latency between your inputs and what happens on screen? Because that actually makes a big difference

I was playing on pc but my controller was giving me trouble with random missed inputs and disconnects so i switched to ps5. I don’t know if its placebo but it does feel like my inputs are more reliably done, I had an easier time getting back to where I was.

I do play largely full on aggression since backing off just switches the moveset to long range punishment on every boss. I just get tired with the fight doing it over and over never finding a good opening to get any damage in. It’s also really hard to read his tells whether the unblockable is a lunge or sweep and they come in so quickly.

I’d say, don’t worry as much about doing damage, just try to get hits in even if they don’t do damage to build up posture on geni. Some hits will get through and do some damage but if you keep constant pressure you’ll break his posture

I did it. The advice to not worry actually worked lol. I just turned my brain off and let the fight happen instead of rushing it. Still cheesed the bastard in lightning phase with firecrackers cos fuck that phase.

It seems just ignoring posture and health and paying attention to only combat makes it easier. Just keep reacting and the fight ends eventually

    I love sekiro because it doesn’t work like other souls games. You have to approach every boss like a puzzle, you learn their patterns and know when you see their hand go left that you’ll need to parry 3 times and then attack twice. I get why that’s not everyone’s thing but I think it’s so fun. Every boss can be approached that way basically except for;

    spoiler

Demon of hatred, fuck that guy

If you’re having trouble with a specific boss I’d recommend looking up video guides on YouTube where they can slow down the animations to show you the tells

I get the idea of the combat I’m just slow. Like if this game was slowed down by like 10% I’d probably have finished it.

For example I can make short work of lady butterfly because i know her move set really well, did it so fast she was only able to bring out her illusions once in that fight.

Yet idk what the fuck is my deal with genichiro but I just can’t get into the flow of his bullshit. I’m always blocking with no opening for attack.

I could look up a video but I like to try and figure out games on my own or at least get vague hints rather than a step by step guide
