Had to make a reddit account for help with an emulation handheld.

Fuck, my first time back in 3 years and I wish I had never bothered.

I hate how this redditor isn’t talking to you, only seeking validation from other redditors that might give them a validation point at your expense. Really weird stuff, reddit is awful.

I’m gonna say even for reddit this one is a special case of assholery. I don’t think I’ve ever seen something quite this bad, the person is quite unhinged.

I don’t know what redditors always feel the need to be the most sneering fucks on the internet, I once posted to a Libre internet subreddit asking a completely honest question and got called an “ignoramus” and shit, genuinely feels like a parody.

Pretty much every time I’ve suggested a mild improvement to a game, the most online member of the community appears to tell me it’s a skill issue and my change would make the game worse.

The emulation/piracy gaming subreddits contain so many of these guys. Received the same kind of extremely hostile smugness on a topic they actually were wrong about and tried to back pedal out of afterwards on the XBOX subreddit when I asked about the english beta that dropped for Dinosaur Hunting and if it worked on retail softmodded XBOXs or not. I do not get it.

This is like stackoverflow or most Linux forums. Aggressively dickish, condescending and arrogant. A bunch of people who are trying to look smart by trashing someone for daring to come into their community and ask a relevant question.

"Did you even use the search function(that one doesn’t work for shit)?

I can’t believe you’re so lazy that you want someone to spoon-feed you answers on this questions and answer site.

I am far to busy and have better things to do than answer your questions on this support forum. I will however write several paragraphs chastising you, I have time for that."

I used to be active on their piracy board years ago, ran into a lot of similar but not that bad. Anyone interested in turning people off to that shit hole could get a language model to rewrite simple statements in this manner.

That was the edited and proofread version, too

    What was the actual issue?

I had a setting native to the device itself (hidden in a particular swipe screen) that was fucking with the PPSSPP emulator on my device. Something to do with key remapping. Turning that off let the PPSSPP app detect the left analog stick, so I can finally actally play shit normally now.

Ironically, that was the very last suggestion offered in another thread, so this smug dingleberry did actually help me once I waded through all the assery.
