We had a few AMA in the past, the most recent one being by a director/actor on [email protected] : https://lemm.ee/post/31335226?scrollToComments=true
Those seems like a good opportunity to promote the platform.
Who do you think would be a good candidate that we could reach out to?
George Takei would be good.
He’s on Mastodon! @[email protected]
Off-topic, but when I searched for him, my phone autocorrected “Takei” to “Naked”. Oh my…
Cory Doctorow comes to mind, as he’s well known on Lemmy for his theorization of enshittification
Got to be the top pick.
Colm Meaney, or as most of you would know him as Chief Of Operations Miles O’Brien
He would definitely fit!
Woody Harrelson, but it better be about Rampart.
He also better start a new post to reply to a question noone knows.
I just want to hear him talking about Natural Born Killers
Margot Robbie!!! How is this not first choice? @MargotRobbie
On the fediverse, you need to add the instance as well: @[email protected]
The guy who does technology connections
Linus Torvalds
Edit: alternatively, Bram Cohen
If it’s for Hexbear or ML instances then I guess fuckin Putin, or Xi.
Most people know Bram Cohen as the creator of BitTorrent, but I’d love to chat with him about twisty puzzles.
Ryan Reynolds, but that’s probably not feasible I guess.
Given Lemmy’s particular popular topics, I guess a good candidate would be either a tech/privacy guy, a scientist, or someone from Star Trek.
For Pride month, maybe Chris Hughes might be interesting though he personally isnt that well-known. Or Anthony Rapp?

It seems like his fediverse experience has not been entirely positive, but he’s stuck around nonetheless… it would be interesting to get his perspective on the fediverse, technology, life, whatever really. He seems like an interesting dude.
Neil Gaiman is still trying to make Bluesky work, so maybe he’d be game for helping prop up an underdog.
Doyle Brunson
I hate to break it to you…
Damn, I didn’t realize he had passed.
