The NES era is the first era that has some lasting games to it that aren’t just relics of their time.
Oh yeah. I have my original NES and a slew of games for it. My kids and I play a half dozen games on it every month or few weeks. This Atari thing is driven purely by some badly tinted nostalgia glasses. it’ll be purchased and played with once, then sit on a shelf forevermore once people realize exactly how crappy a 2600 game really is.
I started with an Atari console; I’m that old. I should be nostalgic for it but no, the NES is the start of games actually being worth playing decades later.
The Sega Master System had some great obscure games I’ve only watched reviews of recently, too.
