The US media didn’t say shit about the deaths and failed to mention that the FDA only discovered the issue from the findings of a CDC investigation of a string of infant deaths across the US. At least 9 infants died but none of the company leadership faced any criminal charges. Instead the CEO of Abbott received a 20 million dollar bonus that year.
“We now know that contrary to initial reports, nine babies who were fed Abbott powdered infant formula manufactured in their Sturgis, Michigan facility have died,” said Congresswoman DeLauro. This is heartbreaking and shameful. Many of these deaths could have likely been prevented if Abbott Nutrition and the FDA did not drag their feet to investigate credible allegations of substandard food safety practices at the plant. And what is deeply disturbing is the timeline in which these events unfolded.
"In February 2021, an entire year before the voluntary recall, Abbott and the FDA were alerted to allegations concerning problems at the Sturgis, Michigan manufacturing facility through a complaint filed by an employee. this study shows the average nitrosamine concentration in Chinese cigarettes is 70 ng/cigarette, with the lowest at 10. this study shows that only 2 of the tested amerikan cigarettes contain less nitrosamines than the Chinese average, at 55 and 66 ng/cigarette. and there are 10 that exceed 300, with a high of 460! the most dangerous Chinese cigarette was at 261

BUT WHO WILL INNOVATE
Unless you have a serious or diagnosed eye condition that benefits greatly from eyedrops - why have them? They seem like a thoroughly unnecessary product to me.
Contact lenses often benefit from eye drops, however plenty of people, especially workers who look at screens for long times develop conditions that can be somewhat managed by eye drops (or by changing the work place).
